Hey! I'm Rebecca, and that's all I needed to hear when I asked my husband, Chris, if he wanted to buy The Inn at River Oaks. In all its 65-year-old, seen-better-days ramshackle glory.
Purchasing an inn wasn't even on our radar. But when I saw the for sale sign on my way home from preschool drop-off, it felt right. Like all paths had led to this. My work in hospitality & tourism, Chris and I's chance meeting while traveling & our decision to move back to my hometown to raise our family.
INCH BY INCH,
ROOM BY ROOM.
Chris could barely look, for fear he'd lose his nerve. Luckily my enthusiasm was enough for the both of us. In February 2019, Chris and I became the proud, slightly in-over-our-heads, new owners of The Inn at River Oaks. We started renovations immediately, taking on much of the work ourselves.
The once-shabby rooms are now bright, inviting & immaculately clean. This fall, we're excited to spruce up our exterior with a fresh new look. Every update brings us one step closer to bringing our big vision to life.
